On the menu screen, pressing Select on the console will let you start on any level you like (1-4). The dungeon will be randomly generated for a unique experience each time through.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eFind the stairs in each maze to progress to the next level of the dungeon. Beware - each level gets harder and harder! Search for a way out while collecting spells, treasures and magical artifacts. You have no choice but to press on, deeper and deeper you explore…\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003ePressing Pause on the console, or holding Button 1 and then pressing Button 2, will bring up the map screen and pause the game. If you find the map of each level, some unexplored rooms will be shown, helping guide your way. One of the magical artifacts will show you more of the level than the basic map.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eYour health is shown in the upper left. If an enemy touches you, you’ll lose health depending on the monster’s strength. Potions restore up to five points of health. You can find potions hidden in the maze, in chests, or occasionally by fully clearing a room of enemies. Reaching the stairs at the end of a level will also restore your health on easy (all health) and normal (up to ten points) difficulty levels.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eIf your health drops to zero, you will turn into a ghost (being dead and all), but you have not yet passed to the realm of the dead! A soul in limbo, the health display becomes a 30 second timer. You must find a gravestone before time runs out or your game is over. If your ghost touches a gravestone, you will get revived and can continue on. While you’re a ghost, you can’t use weapons or pick up objects, but you can fly through walls and the enemies can’t touch you.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eYou start with only the Magic Bolt spell. Hidden in each maze are additional magic spells found on scrolls (Psychic Wave, Lightning, and Fireball). Finding additional scrolls for each spell will increase its power, up to level 4. Once you acquire a spell, you will keep it for the rest of the game. If you die and choose Continue from the menu, you will keep the spells you’ve acquired up to that point. Button 1 fires your spell, Button 2 selects the next available spell.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eFinding magical artifacts will level up your Magic Bolt spell, increasing its firing speed, range and damage. Each magical artifact has additional special powers, which you will have to discover.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eFind all the gold, gems and other treasures hidden in each maze...some treasures only appear in later levels. Treasures increase your score. Generally speaking, the more rare the treasure, the more points it is worth.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThroughout the dungeon, you’ll encounter a variety of monsters. Some will chase you, some will wander randomly until you get too close. Some are easy to defeat, some require many shots.
