Atari 2600+ PAC-MAN Edition Console & Joystick

I'm too young to have ever experienced the original Atari 2600, but I've always loved the look and feel of all the OG consoles. I imagine this is what the original feels like. The joystick is stiff, the game takes skill, you can't just play for 5 minutes and you've mastered your rhythm to beat the game, etc. You have to actually take time to learn stuff and get used to the controller.
Trying to buy other games for it online was a bit of struggle at first. I was confused as to if there even was any other games, but turns out you can just whack in your old Atari 2600 or 7200 games. Atari do have remasters of the original games, but if you don't want to spend extra and have your old ones lying around I wouldn't buy them. I'll give it to them, the games are priced reasonably enough, £20-25 for a game now-a-days is great. The wee mix & match bundle always seems to be on offer. 5 games for ~£120 (in the UK at least, that includes £7 International shipping & VAT which is only included at checkout) is pretty good by todays standards, given most games start off around £50-70 for 1.
Everything about it feels retro but new. It's a console anyone in the family can pickup and play. I would seriously recommend it for any family. It's like a Wii but better. You don't have much set up (just connect a few cables) and only has 1 button on the controller. All the games are simple enough for anyone to play, you can also change some of the settings in pac-man (not sure if that was in the original).
All in all, it's a fantastic console that brings some much needed simplicity back into our modern age.

I sold my original Atari's to get this one. It plays my old games perfectly and the new 8200 games are awesome on here! It's well worth the upgade!

Cool way to change it up

After having this console for a few days, I feel in love with it as soon as I opened it out of the box and then experiencing Pac-Man: Double Feature . The joystick feels comfortable and responsive to the game as I played, it's really pleasant and makes for an awesome time! Can't forget the the look of this console, it just oozes with style. To whoever is a Pac-Man fanatic or even just a lover of atari, this is something I would recommend highly, so grab those old cartridges and kick back, because this console is going to give a great experience, new or old.

Got for a present for my husband's birthday he loves it. It works great definitely worth the money to see him so happy.

I bought this for my husband for the holidays last year as a nostalgic gift and throwback to our youth. I bought an extra joystick so we could play with our teenager. Loved to see the backward compatibility with the original Pac-Man screens when it originally came out.
What a fun and functional family game and stress relief for all.
Only complaint is the joysticks are super stiff. Will see if they loosen up at all. Otherwise it’s 5 stars!!
