Do you have what it takes to become a Dare Devil?
You are the Dare Devil, always looking for a new challenge. You do not know fear, you know only the rush of wind as your parachute carries you to the ground. You ignore the wind and rain. Landing in a forest? No problem. A desert island? Anytime! A moving boat? Bring it on!
Dare Devil is a test of skill, agility, reactions and bravery. Your reactions will be challenged as you hurtle to earth. Each zone gets harder with new obstacles to avoid, wind and rain conspire to send you to your doom. Remember when to Zig and when to Zag!
Glide and zoom past hot air balloons, helicopters and aircraft while picking up bonus balloons. The landing zone is getting closer now, avoid the trees and don’t land in the water unless you want to be shark food. Remember to slow down or you will crater! Watch the geese!
The only sound now, is your heartbeat, getting faster, as the ground gets closer.
How to Play
The objective of Dare Devil is to glide down safely to the ground while avoiding the many obstacles you'll encounter along the way.
Parachuting: Use your joystick controller to control Dare Devil Dave. Up will slow your decent a little, down will increase your decent speed, useful for zooming in and out of tight spaces. Left and right will slide Dare Devil Dave left and right so that he can manoeuvre between obstacles.
Obstacles: There are many different obstacles that you will need to avoid as you glide to the ground. Hitting an obstacle means you will plummet to your doom. Clouds are harmless and you can pass through them without worry. Geese will not hurt you but they will push you off course.
Balloons: There are different bonus balloons that you can pick up as you descend. Red Balloons will award 300 bonus points, Purple Balloons will award 600 bonus points, Green Balloons will award 150 bonus points + 4x score multiplier for 18 seconds (parachute flashes red), and Gold Balloons award invulnerability for 15 seconds (your parachute flashes white).
Wind: Starting at level 2, you will have to contend with variable wind, which will push and pull you across the sky.
Landing: It is important to ensure that you slow down by holding the joystick up in order to land safely. Failure to do this will result in a large crater and the loss of a life! Land in the circle for maximum points.
Scoring: You score points as you descend through each screen, the further you go the more points you will collect. Landing as close to the centre of the landing zone awards extra points.

Get a Dare Devil Box!
If you'd like a boxed copy of Dare Devil, please select "Box Upgrade: Yes" at the top of the page before adding Dare Devil to your cart. Our boxes are professionally printed and include a box insert to hold your Dare Devil cartridge in place. We want you to play our games, so we have not sealed or shrinkwrapped the boxes in any way, allowing you easy access to the game cartridge and manual.
These boxes are the same size as boxes Atari produced for their games "back in the day". They look great sitting on a shelf with your other boxed homebrew games, or alongside games from the classic Atari 2600 library. We only have a limited number of boxes for each game, and there is no guarantee they will become available again once our supplies are exhausted.
Dare Devil is a Melody-enhanced game and includes game cartridge and full-color 8-page manual. You can optionally purchase a professionally printed box (see above).
Available in NTSC and PAL60 television formats--please select above. If you do not select an option, you will receive an NTSC cartridge by default.
