If you thought flying to nowhere was hard...now they've placed perilous pipes in your path! In Flappy, your challenge is to attend to your avian ally at an altitude avoiding alloy aerial aqueducts. How far will you fare?

Flappy is an Atari 2600 take on the popular (and somewhat infamous at this point) Flappy Bird game that first appeared on the iPhone. The game was unceremoniously removed from the App Store by its author, resulting in a large number of "copycat" games being released to capitalize on the sudden vacuum of the game's disappearance. Like its iOS brethren, Flappy is a fairly simple game. Pressing the joystick button causes your avian friend to flap, and the more you flap, the higher you climb. Your primary goal (and, really, your only goal) is to line up your bird so it passes through the oncoming pipes. If you run into a pipe, it's game over! If you hold down the button, you can glide for a moment before falling, but between the flapping and the gliding, that's the limit of your controls.

A good, simple, fun game. You know what you're getting when you buy it. A tip, though: Flappy is best played with a Genesis controller. If you don't have one, be sure to pick one up if you buy this game.

Although Mr. Haas says this is not technically a homebrew port of the mobile game Flappy Bird it certainly captures the same type of spirit in it's challenge, difficulty, and fun simplicity! The Homer Simpson reminiscent sound effect when crashing is definitely a nice touch. Great work Mr. Haas. My more thorough review maybe found here: https://youtu.be/dcLppyFzMuo

My game FLAPPY is not a copy of Flappy Bird.
It borrows the "fly through pipes", but I programmed it the way I wanted it to play - fun and humorous.

The original Flappy Bird got popular because it is impossibly difficult. I would not make and sell a game that is a joke due to the fact that it is impossibly difficult.
I made this to sell because mine is a game you can play, have fun playing, showing to others that 2600 games can have speech, and I made it funny.

Things I like doing:
Stretch it into 16:9 with your TV remote for a modern look from a 1977 system.
Add an auto-fire control if you want the button to give you lots of upward movement. That will make it play most like the original game. Auto fire is in some controllers, and there are plug-in types.
