Trapped in a bizarre, alien high-tech structure and surrounded by robots, your Humanoid moves from cell to cell as you face a band of deadly mechanical monsters. Odd marching skeletons clunk toward you. Robotic tanks trundle into position. Face your enemy and fire, or be doomed by their fatal touch! Eliminate all automatons and proceed to the next assembly.

Stay alert! Your enemies now fire deadly blasts. In Berzerk, all walls absorb shots from you or the robots. In Frenzy, some cell walls ricochet the blasts--both yours and the robots--so watch where you fire! Worst of all is Evil Otto, the bouncing menace who passes through walls and destroys any creature on contact. It's a bizarre battle for survival as Evil Otto bounces toward you! Will you make it?

Atari 7800 veteran Bob Decrescenzo brings arcade classics Frenzy and Berzerk home to the 7800, complete with all the details you'll find in the arcade games. Both games are reproduced with careful attention to detail to match their arcade counterparts as closely as possible. The original speech from the arcade that helped make both games so memorable is also included!

For a new challenge, there are two-player cooperative and competitive gameplay modes. In cooperative modes, both players try to achieve a single high score and share six lives. In two-player competitive mode, each player has their own set of scores and lives. In competitive mode, you even get points for shooting your opponent!

Game Features

  • One or Two Players
  • Head-to-Head or Cooperative Two Player Modes
  • Choose from Frenzy or Berzerk
  • Both games include speech from the arcade
  • Frenzy includes all four interactive maze elements (Big Otto, Power Plant, Central Computer and Robot Factory).

I love this port! Voices are great, having both games, and CoOp! This shows off the 7800 and works on the 2600 (with updates)

Just got my copy last night and I couldn't put it down. The game play is excellent. Really loved the detailed manual. This is by far the best version of this game I have ever seen on a console and has far exceeded my expectations.

You get two terrific games for the price of one here! Frenzy and Berzerk. Berzerk is a classic, and if you don't have a 2600 cartridge, you should get this. Actually, even if you have the 2600 cart, still get this! It adds simultaneous co-op or competition play and the voice of Evil Otto! Frenzy is a great sequel and adds some new features to the robot shooter.

My favorite arcade game of all time is Berzerk. I had only played Frenzy back in the day a few times and several times recently at a retro arcade. Being the sequel of Berzerk of course I was always intrigued. Berzerk for the Atari 2600 was good for its time. This home brew is therefore extremely fulfilling and a proud part of my collection. So much arcade goodness in one cartridge!

Absolutely AWESOME! Great sound and game play, makes the original Berzerk for 2600 look pitiful. Beware Evil Otto is ALOT faster than expected!! A definite must have for the 7800 collection and is one of my favorite games. You will have nonstop entertainment for hours. Hats off to the designer for the addition of Berzerk on cartridge and the box art work is excellent as well.

First off I always loved Berzerk on the 2600. It was one of my favorite games on the console as a kid. I could play it for hours and just have so many great memories of playing it. This game, both "Frenzy" and "Berzerk" are just amazing and so much fun to play. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loved playing Berzerk on the 2600.

I never had the opportunity to play "Berzerk" or "Frenzy" in the arcade. This game is fantastic and quickly became one of my favorites in my collection. I have two complaints.

1. The bullets can be nearly impossible to see sometimes.

2. I keep finding myself playing "just one more game" to beat that last high score. again and again and again and again.

This game is a must have for any 7800 fan!

I really enjoyed this game. The 2 player co-op mode is amazing. My friends and I tend to focus on trying to shoot each other, which could and should be its own game. I would love to see a modern Laser Tag game based on Frenzy. Imagine 8 players battling in randomized arenas, or teams of 4 on 4. Or even an "assassin" mode where you are assigned a player to "assassinate", and once you succeed you take on their assigned target, all while avoiding your assassin. Somebody make this happen. I'll throw 5 bucks toward the project.

I am so glad that I bought this game. The manual was a very nice touch that I did not expect when I received this game. When I received this package, I was blown away with nostalgia. Since Frenzy was originally only ported to the ColecoVision I thought it was great to be able to play it on an Atari 7800. Not only is Frenzy included on the cartridge but a near arcade perfect version of Berzerk(which I prefer) with voice is included as a bonus. I ordered this along with the Pac-Man Collection and highly recommend both of them. I will order some more games in the future!
