Lead is a fast paced Atari 2600 shooter that will keep you on your toes! There are four types of stages: "Fire", in which you must shoot enemies down. "Dodge" where you must dodge asteroids plummeting towards you. "Scramble" where you must avoid sentinels. And "Catch" stages where you must catch satellites. There are Smart Bombs and Power-ups you can capture to help you in your goal to stay alive!

Lead also features two variations: Lead 1K, which is a simpler 1K version of the game (only one stage type), and Lead 4K, which features two stage types.

Includes cartridge and eight-page, full-color manual. Lead supports both NTSC and PAL60 television modes.

AtariVox Support

An AtariVox, AtariVox+, or SaveKey can be used with this game to store your high scores. Each Lead variation (the main game, Lead 1K and Lead 4K) can have one score saved for it. Audio options for the main game are also saved for later use.

Lead BoxLead Box

If you'd like a boxed copy of Lead, please select "Box Upgrade: Yes" at the top of the page before adding Lead to your cart. Our boxes are professionally printed and include a box insert to hold your Lead cartridge in place. We want you to play our games, so we have not sealed or shrinkwrapped the boxes in any way, allowing you easy access to the game cartridge and manual.

These boxes are the same size as boxes Atari produced for their games "back in the day". They look great sitting on a shelf with your other boxed homebrew games, or alongside games from the classic Atari 2600 library. We only have a limited number of boxes for each game, and there is no guarantee they will become available again once our supplies are exhausted. Lead is a good one. The controls are tight, the shooting is furious, and the design is solid. You can even play the earlier 1K and 4K versions, so this will keep you busy for a long time.

Simore Serra strikes again with yet another sharply programmed and addictive shooter. Lead will demand perfection, dexterity, and concentration, but the pay-off is a real and immediate sense of accomplishment when you reach the end of the tunnel. This is a "pick-up-and-play" game that will eat up hours of your day and deftly avoid the kind of rage-quitting frustration that similar games induce. Smart level design and sharp graphics combine to make up one of the most underrated shooters in the modern homebrew catalog. Whether you lead or are lead, Lead should be in your collection.

This is seriously one of the best Atari 2600 games EVER. It's fast paced, and it is a great way too fine tune your reflexes. Lead's gameplay keeps changing and progressing for an extremely fun and challenging experience! If this game had been release in 1982,it would have single-handedly saved Atari from hitting hard times.

These guys are right! I took a chance on lead based on Alberts recommendation, and the other reviews here. I really like it. Honestly, my very first reaction was that it was just OK, only because visually it didnt impress me. But it really passed my personal test, as far as my wanting to hit the reset button over and over.

Lead puts together an AWESOME use of the VCS sound processors with good, simple, and somewhat innovative play mechanics to form a fabulous homebrew experience well beyond the caliber of many original titles from back in the day. For me the real star is the music, which rewards progress with another musical layer being added, and you find yourself rocking out in a whole different way each level (my favorite is the jump from level 2 to 3). Putting this game through a good system while playing will GREATLY enhance the experience, but regular lo fi is still on par.

I really like the use of 'spray firing' requiring holding down the fire button and dragging your 'stream' back
