Time to Paint the Town Green!

One of the first homebrew games for the Atari Jaguar returns in a special release from AtariAge.  Painter: Definitive Edition brings back the addictive race and chase gameplay, a pile of new levels, challenges that will keep you engaged for hours, and the ability to save your progress and high scores. 

Can you outrun your pursuers, paint the patterns, and beat the clock on your own?  Time to paint the town green!

Painter is simple to understand, but a challenge to master.  Outline all of the boxes of each levels unique design.  Do this before the monsters catch you and before the clock runs out.  Your tools of defense are your wits and cutting holes in the grid to force the the monsters to look for alternate routes.

Gameplay

The objective of Painter is to fill all the boxes by outlining them before the timer runs out, all while avoiding the nasty blue monsters. You have one defense against them: you can cut holes in the lines, but you can only have three holes open at the same time. The holes will repair themselves after a short period.

The trick to playing Painter is to hold the D-Pad in the direction that you want to go next. Holding the D-Pad down in an upper-left diagonal will make you immediately go up or left whenever you reach a path going up or left. This is the same for all other diagonals on the D-Pad.

Included Levels

This new release of Painter includes four sets of levels you can choose from: 

• Atari ST Levels: These levels are from the original Atari ST release of the game.
• Main Jaguar Levels: These are levels created for the Jaguar version of Painter.
• Jagfest+ Levels: A special set of labels created for the 2003 JagFest version of the  game.
• Community Levels: Levels created by the community for a previous release of the game.

Jaguar Controller Overlay Included!

Painter Definitive Edition includes an overlay for your Jaguar Controller, which is quite helpful when you want to engage the Ball Movement Screen where you can interact with 3D models made from balls.
