You've been activated. But it's an emergency activation! This only happens when something goes wrong and your help is needed. Where is everyone and what are these other robots hanging around? You've never seen them before. Where are your other robot buddies? Time to get to the main computer and find out where everyone is and what is going on, but first as Robot Zed, you must get to it. And it looks like these strange robots don't want you to get there. It's a good thing you have the ability to take the other robots' abilities when you defeat them, or else this may be an impossible task! So, let's go and find your robot friends!
Gameplay
One robot remains in the force and it's up to you rescue your fallen robot colleagues. You control the last Robot, Robot Zed. In each area, you must find four robots to destroy before being beamed into a different part of the area. Every time you chalk up four destroyed robots, a tally mark will be shown on the bottom left of the screen. Once you destroy 16 robots and get all four tally marks, you will be transported to the main hallway before the boss room. Here you will have to run past and/or fight robots before fighting the boss. The boss has two different jumps and two different attacks, so be careful. Every location also has its own environment as well, which effects gameplay and the boss battles.
In this game, you can take on the power of opposing robots. There are up to five different robots that you can obtain their power from. When destroying a robot that can give you a special power, it will drop a power module that you can use to get the power and obtain 10 power points at the same time (on the right side of the health/power status). To switch to this, or any other power you have obtained, press and hold down on the controller and press the jump button (B). You can only do this when you have power points to spare though, as special powers will use power points when you use them. If you already have their power, they may or may not drop a power module for you, which will have five power points. All other robots that don't give you a special power can possibly drop a health module for you, that can be worth 5 or 10 health points.
If you lose all your health points and have power points to spare, you will be transported back to your home base and put in the revitalization chamber, using up to 10 power points to transfer to your health points. If this happens on the opening level, your game will be over, regardless of how many power points you have.
