Soul of the Beast

Once a normal infant child, you were snatched away from your home of simple town folk and twisted into a powerful demon. For countless moons, you were in servitude to the dark lords that rule these lands, doing their cruel work. You have now awakened, emerged from the hazy prison in your mind.

Now you will break free--battle the vile horde that stands in your path, and face off against the evil High Sorcerer RYNKAR.

Finish the fight!

About

SOUL OF THE BEAST is a fast and brutal side-scrolling action adventure designed for your ATARI 2600 Video Computer System. With more than fourteen unique enemy types and variants across four massive, non-linear areas, puzzles, secrets, and boss encounters--your journey will not be easy!

You begin the game with a life of 12, and it will decrease as you take damage from hostiles. When this health reaches zero, you will die and your quest will be over.

As you travel the EERIE PLAINS, you will encounter LANDMARKS that lead to other areas to explore and battle. In these places, you will find ladders or doors that can lead back out again, or elsewhere. You may travel freely to any of these locations, but beware of the many danger so you will face in doing so. Certain death awaits the unprepared!

On your quest, there are ARTEFACTS that you must gather to progress. Their locations are not known, and only vague rumours and myths shed some light. All three must be collected.

Many HOSTILE CREATURES stand in your way, savage beasts and demons summoned by dark rites and knowledge best left forgotten. The only way to combat these monsters is with your powerful fists and sharp reflexes. There are also traps and obstacles that cannot be destroyed, but can be avoided if timed correctly.

Will you fight for the SOUL OF THE BEAST?

From the screenshots of the game I thought it looked very familiar, It looked like Shadow of the Beast from My Atari Lynx. I ordered it and it arrived today. I thought it would be a "room" to "room" side scroller but you always stay in the middle of the screen so that was cool and not something you see a lot on the old Atari. I've played for about 15 minutes so far and I like it. It looks like there will be a lot to explore.
