The Plot
Set in 1932, you are a British adventurer, who has just stolen a valuable golden mask from the ruins of an old Inca tower on a small deserted island off the coast of Ecuador. Locals avoid the island and its tower, as rumor has it that the old Incas brought it to life, so it could protect the treasure hidden inside. In their indigenous Quechua language, descendants of the Incas call the tower “Turri Raqay”, which roughly translates to “Tower of Rubble”.
What seemed like an easy pick up, quickly turns into a nightmare. Soon after snatching the golden mask from its pedestal and walking back to leave the island, you find that hot lava is emerging from the sea that surrounds the island. You are trapped!
And to make things worse, at that very moment the tower awakes and turns out to have a very malicious personality…
About
Tower of Rubble is a non-stop action game, where the challenge is to survive on the lethal tower as long as possible, while it crumbles and rebuilds itself around you.
Every second, a block of rubble will fall from the sky at a different position, building up the tower. And at the same time, horizontal and vertical laser beams will tear down the tower by clearing out full rows and columns of blocks.
And, as if that wasn’t enough, the outside walls will slowly but surely disintegrate and eventually melt while sinking into the hot lava. Sounds hectic? It is! But you have to keep calm and make the right decisions in a split second to stay alive.
To survive on the Tower of Rubble, it is essential to master running, climbing, hanging and jumping. You can practice all possible moves right on the title screen. A tricky move to perform is the "island jump", where you are hanging on a ledge and jump to another ledge two blocks ahead. You'll need this jump to survive more than 100 seconds!

Get a Tower of Rubble Box!
If you'd like a boxed copy of Tower of Rubble, please select "Box Upgrade: Yes" at the top of the page before adding Tower of Rubble to your cart. Our boxes are professionally printed and include a box insert to hold your Tower of Rubble cartridge in place. We want you to play our games, so we have not sealed or shrinkwrapped the boxes in any way, allowing you easy access to the game cartridge and manual.
These boxes are the same size as boxes Atari produced for their games "back in the day". They look great sitting on a shelf with your other boxed homebrew games, or alongside games from the classic Atari 2600 library. We only have a limited number of boxes for each game, and there is no guarantee they will become available again once our supplies are exhausted.
AtariVox Support
Tower of Rubble supports the AtariVox or SaveKey for automatic saving of your high score.
To reset the saved high score, hold down the RESET switch while powering on the game.
